V!DA, a mid-twenties artist from Austria, might look like another face in the new melancholic rap generation at first glance. But once you really listen, it becomes clear: this isn’t about aesthetics or trends. It’s about release.
“I use music as a vent for my emotions,” he explains. “In real life, I struggle to speak about my thoughts when they weigh on me.”
What sounds paradoxical is actually the core of his identity as an artist. The mask doesn’t hide him — it frees him.
“People might think I’m closed off because I wear a mask. But it’s the opposite. The mask allows me to be completely open.”
In a society that still teaches men to be strong, silent and constantly available, V!DA offers a quiet counterstatement. He talks about pain. Doubt. The emotions that surface at 3 a.m. when you’re alone in your car and there’s no one left to impress.

His newly released EP Believe In feels like a journey through the different phases of a relationship. Not dramatized. Not exaggerated. Just observed — raw and direct.

Choosing one track to represent him isn’t easy. Eventually, he names “Liebe Fehlt” as the song that captures most of his recurring thoughts and emotional patterns.

Why Believe In?
The title of the EP traces back to a deeply personal moment. Shortly before the end of a relationship, V!DA recorded an emotional and brutally honest track that later became the intro. A sample repeating the words “Believe In” stuck — and stayed.
“The name also means that you should believe in love — even if you haven’t found it yet.”
The project moves through different stages of love: hope, distance, tension, closeness. It doesn’t romanticize heartbreak. It documents it.

When asked about his biggest strength as an artist, his answer is simple: feeling melodies.
“My biggest strength is finding melodies on beats and writing lyrics in a short amount of time.”
Studio sessions don’t feel corporate or calculated. His team consists of close friends. Before recording, they talk. About life. About everything.
“First, we talk about different topics. Then we record or shoot videos. And the fun never gets lost.”
